The Abdul Ahad Guru Traveling Fellowship provides an opportunity for qualified candidates to participate in a three to six months overseas program in Kashmir.
This program entails exploration and education in the Kashmir valley on globally significant social issues such as education, environmental pollution / climate change, or developing entrepreneurship. The Fellowship provides opportunities for applicants to apply the skills they have developed through their academic pursuits. They will have direct involvement with projects that address local and community needs in the Kashmir Valley. The students will be exposed to challenges and new methods of working while being encouraged to explore the connections between their American education and experiences in an international workplace. The Foundation’s goal is to develop long-term partnerships between U.S. and Kashmiri professionals, so that the benefits flow in both directions and help both societies in human, professional and economic development.
